Play Therapy Experience:

Carly is a Play Therapist, accredited by the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT), and the Professional Standards Agency (PSA).

I hold specialist knowledge in developmental psychology; including attachment theory and  developmental neuro-psychology, chid-centred therapy- and Carl Jung's Humanistic Therapy, and a range of play therapy techniques, including Jungian sand world, role play and puppetry. I work with children who have experienced trauma, abuse, bereavement, and parental separation, children affected by mental-illness in the family, children with speech and language difficulties, children with attachment difficulties, and adopted children. Clients include Kids Company charity,  Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Primary schools, Secondary schools, Private families, Adoption support services and FACTS charity.


SEN Experience:

Play Therapy can also be applied to children with Special-education needs:

I have experience with children from aged 3-15 years with, cerebral palsy, global developmental delay, Autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, ASD and down's syndrome. I am skilled in non- verbal communication techniques including Makaton, PECS, and TEACHH.



  • Hold up-to-date DBS and personal liability insurance.
  • Attends regular Clinical Supervision with an approved BAPT Play Therapist Supervisor.
  • Expert in Projective play techniques (Research project, 2015).
